MAPA’s academy program empowers learners of all ages to push through boundaries and open themselves to new possibilities as they discover their own creative voices. Through our holistic approach to arts education, learners of all abilities explore their curiosities through creativity and collaboration in an inclusive learning environment.
MAPA’s Kūpuna Acting Class
Designed for adults ages 50+, this class offers a supportive, safe, and fun environment to explore your creativity and discover the joy of acting. In our 2026–27 session, taught by Donna Breeden, David Johnston, and Sally Sefton, you’ll learn how to create realistic, multi-dimensional characters through monologues, scenes, theatre games, and more.

For more than five decades, MAPA has provided theatre classes taught by highly experienced and trained teaching artists. MAPA's classes build confidence, stimulate creativity, and enhance life skills like collaboration and communication for youth. MAPA offers the longest running performing arts academy on the island. Since 1974, MAPA has served more than 1 million people spanning three generations!

Dance Training with Evolution Dance Academy in residence at MAPA
MAPA is proud to partner with Evolution Dance Academy in residence at MAPA. Evolution provides dance training for all ages in ballet, hip hop, jazz, tap, contemporary, and more. Each student’s creative journey includes a foundation of dance technique and life skills.
