Performing Arts for Kūpuna

September 13-December 13, 2021

Haven’t acted since high school? Never been on stage before but wish you had? Here’s your chance! This class for folks over the age of 50 offers the opportunity to participate in the performing arts in a supportive, safe and fun environment. Taught by master teaching artist Sally Sefton via zoom, this fall session will be focusing on creating complex, dimensional characters both in monologues and scene study. The class will work towards an informal presentation that will take place during the last class. Register today!

Ahi Wrap: The Carport Theatre Festival

Due to a COVID case among our fully vaccinated production crew and the spike in cases on Maui, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone Ahi Wrap to a future date to ensure the safety of our participants and audience members.

The Ahis will be back onstage soon, sharing the laughter, crazy antics and true meaning of ‘ohana. When we do return, we hope you’ll join us. Till then, in true Ahi fashion, stay safe and take care of each other.

If you have any questions, please contact the MAPA office at 808-244-8760.

Brave Acts

Fourteen brave kupuna perform self-written monologues exploring loss, anger, understanding and heartfelt perspective during the COVID pandemic. Shared in two “brave” acts and FREE for all.

Lovingly crafted in MAPA’s Performing Arts for Kupuna class under the guidance of teaching artist Sally Sefton.
