Meet the Staff: Frances Duberstein-Miller

Director of Development

Frances grew up in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, in Takoma Park, Maryland. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Michigan and a Master’s Degree in Public Affairs, with concentrations in Nonprofit Management and Policy Analysis, from Indiana University. After moving to Maui in 2012, she began working as Development Coordinator at the nonprofit umbrella of Aloha House/Maui Youth & Family Services/Malama Family Recovery Center. She has volunteered and worked with a variety of nonprofits in the midwest and Maui. As a child she did tap dancing and attended theater camp and in high school had the privilege of performing in “Hello, Dolly!,” “A Tale of Two Cities,” “Guys and Dolls” and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Frances joined the MAPA ohana in 2019 and is thrilled to combine her education and experience in nonprofit development with her lifelong passion for the performing arts.
